My state of residence offered tax free firearms sales this past weekend. What a wonderful place to live. I love living in the South.
Anyway, I held a HK45. I instantly knew I was going to buy it. What a fantastic gun.
Now I want another HK...
nice website!

South Carolina
It was effective Friday and Saturday. I heard one news cast that stated SC officials estimate a $1,500.00 loss in tax revenue. After what I saw, I think $150,000.00 is a very low estimate. The lines had people buying 3 and 4 guns at a time, and the lines were 10+ deep all day long. NCIS calls had 20 minute+ wait times.
I went in 2 different shops, both were packed all weekend long. Friday at about 11 am one of the shop owners told me they had already sold twice what they sold the day after the election.
Most people were buying shot guns and semi-auto pistols. Most of what I saw was "price point" firearms.

South Carolina-er here, too.
I work part-time in the local gunshop for quite while. On last Friday, I personally sold $12,000 worth guns because of SC firearm tax-free holidays. And I was No.4 in the store. Go figure how much we sold on that day....
I also personally bought my USC on that day. ($100+ tax saved)

I'd take sales tax over income tax any day, of which we have none.
But why would the state have a tax free day just on guns?
Oh well, good they did. You'll love your HK45. I don't own one, but I've shot one and loved it.

Dave,
We, SC residents, call it "Second Amendment Weekend". The decision of no sale tax of firearm purchase was made back in June. If I am correct, this amendment (no sale tax of buying guns) will be continuted every year after THXgiving weekend. What can you say? Glad to live in the South LOL.

Next year... buying... HK... PSG-1... (Just kidding!)
P.S: I gotta check if we sold that Barrett 82A1. It could be $750.00 tax saving!

Good deal! That would save me 8.6% here in Washington State. Too bad the leaches in Olympia aren't as generous as the old boys in Columbia.

It is my first HK.
I am definatley keeping the 1911 and all the FN guns, but I would consider selling a couple others to get a P7 series gun. But I need to get my hands on one first to get the feel of it, and figure out exactly which one to get.

If there was no sales tax here in NJ, I'd definately buy myself another firearm.

Wow, what is the sales tax in NJ? Even at 6% an $800 gun would only cost another 48 bucks! Don't let that seperate you from another HK!

I always buy more expensive guns online because I can't justify the high cost of tax on some of these guns. But on lower priced firearms, FFL fee and shipping would be close enough to tax anyway.

They just raised the sales tax in Maryland this past January. How nice to have just one day so I could purchase a new HK P2K. Oh well like the lib's in Maryland would ever do anything positive for firearm sales. Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the forum.

I call it the National Socialist State of Illinois. I just moved back after being gone for 17yrs, Most of the residents have a anti-gun sense of virtue. A nice place for Nazicrats to live..
