Converting a P2k sk .357 to .40?

I know this has to been asked a thousand times but couldn't find an answer. Can I drop a .40 S&W barrel and mag into a P2K SK .357 sig?

Yep.. I've got the .40 and have been wanting to convert it to .357 but haven't been able to find the barrel for sale. Mags are the same.

yes and no.

yes, you can drop in a 40 barrel into the 357 sig p2k sk.

no, you don't need a 40 magazine - the 357 mag is essentially the same.


i have a p2ksk in 357 sig with 2 357 sig mags, a 40 barrel and a 12-rd 40 uspc mag with x-grip and they all work flawlessly.

good luck finding an extra 357 sig barrel for the sk. from what i hear, you'll have to find someone who buys a 357 and wants to sell the original barrel, and if you do find that one person in a thousand, you'll probably have to pay a premium for it since they're pretty hard to come by.

357 going to 40 cal requires a swap of the barrel. i dont know about going from 40 cal to 357. 357 has a higher chamber pressure than the 40 not sure if it will cause damage to the gun over time (obviously not right away) or if the gun is built for the 357 pressure and so it doesnt matter if you use the 40or 357. just something to consider unless one of the other more knowledgable members has a more definative answer.

No pressure worries. Same mags, same recoil springs, same frame, same everything except the barrel. .40 to .357 or .357 to .40, all you need is a new barrel.

With the hk p2000sk that CDNN is selling...
Is it a .40 gun with an extra .357 barrel or is it a .357 gun with an extra .40 barrel?
Also does anyone know if all the serial numbers match?

it's a 357 with an extra 40 barrel. the SN on the 357 barrel matches the frame, but there is no serial on the 40 barrel. i got mine from them last week - great deal!
