I am looking to get a 9mm HK. My choices are between the USP and the P2000. Both feel great, but the P2000 feels a tad better. My main concern is that i tend to shoot Nato spec ammo. I have maybe a good 6k rounds of adcom 124gr fmj. these do a little over 1200 fps.

Does the USP have any advantage over the P2000 in terms of strength and durability?

The right side slide release on some P2000s just isn't tight and can flap around a little bit.

Otherwise, they are identical in durability.

Otherwise, they are identical in durability.A drop of clear fingernail polish makes that problem go away. P2000 and USPc are equal in durability.

both are equal the only difference is control placement and removable backstrap on the p2k.

My vote is for P2000. I had both. P2000 has a better trigger for me and feels better in my hands. It is a keeper.
USP 9mm found a new owner.

If your question is the strenght and durability of the P2000...

Do a search on this forum. Greg Bell did a "Project: Break My P2000" back in January 2007. If I remember correctly, he got bored with the project after a year or so because he simply cound not break it. That post should put your mind at ease as far as durability. FWIW, I agree the P2000 does feel a bit better than the USP. Good Luck.

Something seems to be up with Greg's Site at the moment, but here is the link anyway. Greg Bell - Project:Break my P2000 (http://web.mac.com/timetravelfoundation/The_LAMP/PROJECT%3A_Break_my_P2000/PROJECT%3A_Break_my_P2000.html)

I recently bought a P2000 in 9mm and a USPf in 9mm as well. They will go along with my USPc in .40 LEM nicely.

I don't think you'll find a production 9mm handgun that's more durable than the P2000. Equally durable, maybe. But not more durable.

I enjoy shooting mine and have yet to experience any issues. For my next 9mm though, I'll pony up a bit more and try out the P30.
