I might be able to get a soft case that originally came with a USP .45 compact tactical and I was wondering if all the soft cases were the same size/internal layout etc?I'd want to try and use the case with my .45 Elite. Thanks

All of the ones that came with the HK guns differed only by color. The MK23 case was the same as the USPct case.
Beware of impersonator cases, though. The original HK case did not say "HK" on the exterior, was not made by Blackhawk, has removable velcro attached pouches, has 2 hidden pockets that fits NFA paperwork perfectly, and said "Made by Eagle Industries for HK" on the interior patch.

There were two sizes. The ones that came with the Tactical, Expert, Match, Mark 23, SD9, and USPCT were the large case that had removable velcro inserts for gun strap and muzzle holder, dual mag pouch, light or ammo box, and suppressor case. They were gray, black, and camo. These were made by Eagle and had the HK logo on the inside. These sold for about $80 when they were plentiful.
Then there was a smaller promo case that had fixed points for pistol and two mags. They barely held a Compact and I could not get them to hold a full size secure enough for my likings. They shipped out mainly with the tan, gray, and green framed pistols but of course could be bought separately from places like CDNN. These sold for about $30 and were in tan, green, and gray colors.

+1 on what Big Bore said as to the smaller promo cases.

Did HK actually send out those smaller cases with guns? It was my understanding that places like CDNN just added them.

I believe you're right about that MaverickH1.

Right on Maverick! The first cases where developed between HK Inc. and Eagle Industries and were quickly copied. There were a total of four colors offered originally for - woodland camo (Mark23 - first one), black (USP45T), gray (various, USP40 Expert) and some tan for specific projects (JCP, USP45CT), even a few in digi camo for presentation guns and one for the first MP7 design. The colors were sometimes mixed for other pistols. John Carver at Eagle was/is the best to work with on special projects like this.

The first time I saw those smaller cases the gun shop where I used to hang out back in Indiana, who is or was at that time a HK distributor direct, had them and they were being included with the colored framed USP/C pistols. At that time, so they told me, the cases were being shipped out with the guns as a promo item but I imagine a LOT of dealers, and distributors alike, were not passing the cases on to the customer and selling them as "extras."

I think Big Bore is correct again. I bought a NIB USPc in OD green from the original buyer. It came in the standard black hard case with the serial # matched to the gun. I also received the small case in OD, assuming it was part of the package, but it never occured to me to ask the seller.
I've never actually carried the gun in it, but it's very nice looking with the HK logo.

Well I guess that settles it, doesn't it?
That's good to know. I don't like giving out false information. That doesn't mean I have to like those cases, though :)

The large Eagle Industries Soft Case also came in OD Green. I have a USP 45 Tactical (OD Green) that came with the OD Green case. :)

My first USP Tactical .45 came with a gray case. My second, identical Tactical came with a Black case. Didn't realize they came in other colors.
Do all HK USP Tactical's come with that soft case when purchased?

No. Newer ones do not.
Well, I found an answer to one of my questions using the search function.
No. Newer ones do not.
However, I was wondering what were the years the USP Tactical came with the soft case?
Also, does anyone know if and where one could purchase the soft case now? There are a couple on Gunbroker, but they are priced a little high.
I checked the HK Webshop, but all I found was this…http://us.hkwebshop.com/HKWebShop/show/byItemID/10047//104///////////true
It might be the smaller case, but I know it is not the larger one. It is a nice case however.

In my opinion, just buy the Blackhawk SOCOM case. You can find it for about $60 or $70, and the only difference is that it doesn't say "Made for HK" on the interior. Oh and you can adjust the mag pouches. It's a better case, while being a clone of the Eagle one.
Make sure you get the clone, though. Not one of the cheaper knock-offs that say "HK" on the exterior.
Or try to find the Eagle case from someone, expect to pay ~$125.
As for when it stopped shipping out with the USP-t, it was probably in the middle of some year. When HK decides to stop using a particular case style, they ship out all the old style ones they have left. Sorry, I don't pay much attention to these kinds of things, but I think it was around 2007-2008 when they made the switch.

My first USP Tactical .45 came with a grey case. I bought that around 2002. My second Tac .45 came with a black case bought in 2005. Interior HK logo has Eagle Industries, Ltd. under it like others have said.
