I plan on sending my .45 Tac to Robar to get the slide and barrel NP3'd. Has anyone seen somebody strip the hammer (rubber?) and NP3 coat it? I saw a post from BigBore ages ago about it, but never looked further into it. I'd like to hear from anyone who has attempted this mod.

There was a pic posted here quite a while ago with a stripped hammer. It may have been a compact however, I honestly can't remember the model.
It did have a skeletal look to it, but wasn't attractive IIRC.
A search might be productive.

I recall that picture, I think it was on a Match clone, but honestly, I did not like the looks of it at all when stripped. There was sort of a nub sticking up and if I were going to strip it off I think I would re-contour it to look more like a spurless hammer before NP3ing.
