hey guys, just got my ccw and am looking into purchasing a sub campact gun. i currently only own a full and mid sized in a sig pro 40 and a glock. i am debating on getting a glock 26 or this hk in a 9mm. none of the few shops i've been to in phoenix have them to even hold but i have shot and held the 26. my questions are nooby and was just curious as to what you thought of the 2 compared to each other. also what is the best way to obtain one of these and what price range should i expect to pay? i am wanting to order it for christmas. thanks.
also which variant would i want if i want it to shoot like my sig pro where first shot pull hammer from rested and the following shots hammer is cocked? thanks for any help and merry christmas.

I just picked up a P2000SK in .357 Sig that came NIB with a factory
.40 barrel and 3 mags. I wear it in a OWB Galco Concealble holster. Easy to conceal and its very comfortable.
Comp-Tac IWB is next on my list.

I used to mainly carry a G26 9mm and now I mainly carry a P2000sk .40. Don't forget the crappy plastic sights on the Glock have got to go. This brings the G26 into the P2000sk's price neighborhood anyway, especially if you get lucky enough to find a P2000sk LNIB. I paid $750 for my P2000sk LNIB.
For 9mm you can go G26 or P2000sk comfortably, but if you want a .40, then hands down get the HK. Variant 3 for the P2000sk is DA/SA (carried hammer at rest, first shot heavy DA, all subsequent shots SA).
If you have any other questions comparing the two I would be happy to help. But I think you need both, one for summer one for winter. :D

I carry my p2000sk 40 LEM for ccw all the time. It's easily concealable, relliable, and very accurate for a sub compact. Perfect for CCW IMO.

Wouldn't the P2sk be second to the P7 series in ease of carry?

It's the best carry gun I've ever had. I've tried many, carried only four in 33 years. The P2000sk has no flaws.

I would replace the base plate of the mag as I can see that catching my clothes, but other than that, P2000SK would be one of my top choices for carry.
As for P7, I have felt that it is a bit heavy over time compared to some of my other guns with higher capacity. As much I love my P7, I have not carried this pistol with me for some time.

I beleive the HK4 is shorter and lighter than the P7

p2000sk good for ccw?
I certainly hope so as that is what I carry! A V3 P2000sk in .40 to be exact.

P2000SK .40 in a m-tac holster here.
How much more kick does the .40 have in this size over the 9mm. I would love to get a .40 but as i have only shot the glocks in this size, the .40 glock kicks like a mule at that size frame. almost like it wants out of my hand. but if you guys like the .40 i would much rather get that caliber.

I had a Glock .40 and I think it had a lot of muzzle flip, so I went with a 9mm for my P2000sk and I couldn't be happier. Plus if you want a P30 those mags will fit in the P2000sk also.

I have shot a Glock 27 and regularly shoot my P2000sk .40. In this frame size and caliber there is simply no contest... the HK wins!

I own a Glock 23 (.40) right now and I have decided my new carry gun will be the P2000 sk in 9mm.
It's a small gun and should conceal real nice.
I agree with the muzzle flip in the Glock with .40.
I think 9mm in the sk would just perfect (and that's what I plan on getting)

I spent 2 hours and about a billion rounds at the range comparing the P200SK to my usual carry gun a G27 today. I had intentions of selling my G27 to my Dad and getting the P2000 so I am “all HK” again. After shooting 300 rounds through the two today my conclusion was that they are both great guns. To me the muzzle flip between the two was so close to identical that it couldn’t be considered a deciding factor. I was shooting equal groups with both guns too. I wasn’t too thrilled with the take up on the P2000’s trigger though, it felt like a mile compared to the G27 and felt like half a mile compared to my USP45TAC, which I am thinking I want less take-up now after shooting it back to back with a couple other guns today. I’m nit picking in regards to the 45TAC, it shoots great, but the P2000 was a bit over the top. After shooting I had not come to a conclusion about what I thought of the P2000 so I figured I would go home and think on it. I wanted to want it though.
As I was walking out the door I noticed the HK45c under the counter and asked to check it out. It was obviously bigger than the G27 or the P2000 but not a lot bigger. I took a test gun back out on the range to see what I thought of it. I put the first mag through the X in the X ring at 25 yards! Then I handed it too my Dad and he ran it out to 35 yards and put the next mag all in the head. The gun was absolutely transparent in my hands. It could have been part of my body, it was perfect. I eve pulled the 45TAC back out to shoot them back to back and to be honest I think the HK45c shoots as good as the 45TAC and I am not eve used to it yet.
Needless to say my Dad now has a G27 and my new carry gun is the HK45. In my opinion the HK45 is a lot more refined and easy to handle than the P2000. Yes it’s a bit bigger and a bit more money, but for me it fills my needs and what I want a gun to feel like perfectly.

I have both the P2000sk LEM and G26. I'm one of the unusual people, where I actually like the ergos of Glocks and I shoot them damn well.
Either pistol would be a fine choice for CCW, and it really depends on which one you feel comfortable with.
I carry the G26, with Glock +2 mag extensions which is no longer in the grip than the P2000sk with the finger extension base plates.
I shoot the G26 as well as my P30 and G19 ...it's what works for me.
I would try to find a range that does rentals and try before you buy. My whole hand won't fit on the grip of the P2000 sk. If I put the finger extension on the mag the mag is practically the same length as the P2000 with a flat bottom mag. I hadn't made the purchase yet but I'm leaning towards wither the P2000. But then again I'm currently carrying both a HK USPC and a G26 for CCW and have no problems with either. I use to carry my HK USP daily but it got old and uncomfortable fast.
I just bought my first P7 and a Rohrbaugh R9S this week so I'm going to start rotating them into carry options when holsters get here.

I only started shooting earlier this year but I really don't notice much difference between the "kick" of my P30 in 9mm and my P2000SK in .40
Neither one feels uncomfortable in the least. Typically when I go to the range I will put 300 - 400 rounds through each. Even with the shorter barrel, my groups with the P2000SK are nearly the same as with the P30.
IMO the P2000SK is an excellent choice for CCW. Like I said before I carry it in a M-TAC holster at about 3:30. Very comfortable and easy to conceal. I am becoming so used to it being on my hip that I often forget that it's even there.

I carry my 2000sk in .357 comfortably most every day.. it's an excellent CCW choice. As for price, don't pay more than $750.. I just picked up my second 2ksk from CDNN for $699 shipped, and it included both the .40 and the .357 barrel new from the factory.
It's not my favorite HK for the range, where the P30L and HK45c are simply amazing.. but for CCW it's the only way to go.
