Ok no hits from anyone, so I will be a bit more specific.

After some searching I saw that people are using the TRL-2. Any thoughts on this? Since I am a newby, please don't get irked by my newby questions.

1) How accurate is the laser. For example lets say I put it on the gun, sight it in then remove the laser. If I put it back on again, do I have to re-sight in the gun?

2) Is this a good tac light\laser? Are there any others people would reccomend?

Thanks in advance.

Have the TLR-2 (used to have the HK45). Great laser/tac light combo. Zeroed the laser at 7 yards once and that was it. Took it on and off several times without having to readjust.
Now have the 45c. Fit not as great, but works just as well.

Does anyone have the Surefire X400?

The X400 would be a nice addition. Personally I wish there was a Blast 2 for the HK45's, very happy with the one on my USP.

TRL-2 is NOT waterproof. The light may-be, but the laser is not. Not sure if the x400 is fully waterproof as it's not even out yet. I would wait for the x400, but it does come at like 4x as much as the trl-2.

I use an Insight M6 and it works well.

The X400 is about double of what the trl-2 goes for. Still pricey, but certainly not 4x.

Are you sure it's not available yet?

You know...my wife/wallet are never going to forgive you guys..... I was going to *just*get a HK45. Then your guys turn me on to the P30 so bad that its all I think about. Now I was set to spend $200 for a TAC light/laser and now I am thinking about doubling that amount. I have definately caught the bug.

According to an insider (works at Surefire if I've read his posts right) on Lightfighter, they are aiming for an "early" 2009 (March or later) release. The item has been on many sites for awhile, but most of them still state "pre-order".

I see, I guess that explains the lack or reviews. Allot of websites sure jump the gun by even showing it on there site.

What is going to be the most compact light out there for the HK45c? I may consider it for my carry gun if it's small enough.

I put it in the cart on OpticsPlanet and clicked on continue. It takes me right to the spot that I put in my CC#. It doesn't show as a preorder or that its out of stock.

I am still going to do some more research, but if this one is completely waterproof and I can find some reviews, I am going to go for it. I know the Surefire name well.

As the Surefire 400s are not out, I went with the 300s.

Correction: I misread the released dates; the March or later is for the UA2 and UB2, while the X400 is February. Sorry for any confusion I caused.

Well, the first pre-orders actually came up around May or so of this year (IIRC, anyways, I was also looking for a light/laser combo for the HK45). So, people have been waiting awhile, but Surefire has been repeatedly pushing it back, to make sure everything lives up to hype.

Hmm, well, some sites have stopped showing the pre-orders, while others still have it up. Eh, IMO, it'd probably be worth the couple month's wait for a quality product unless you're LE or mil and need it for everyday use now.

I'm pretty sure it's waterproof, as almost all Surefire products are; company literature that's been posted all over the web for the sites selling it state waterproof up to 22 meters. As for reviews, I've seen it in several magazines, but I don't remember which ones; sorry. However, since I haven't read all that many negative reviews of anything in gun mags, I tend to not really take their opinions too seriously.

Yeah, you are right. I guess I was thinking about the trl-1.

Lucky! (insert Nepolean Dynamite voice). Are you able to carry those in holster(s) and concealed?

I'm a fair sized guy (6/1 & 230 lb), so these conceal well in Galco belt slide holsters with a long shirt or light jacket.

Cool, do you by any chance have a link for that holster?

thanks

I have had to send my TLR 1 back twice for intermittent failures. While they ultimately swapped it for a new c4 model ( 135 lumens v. 80 lumens), I would just save the $$ up and buy/cry one time going with the surefire.
