So far so good, was glad to finally get her home. The wife really likes, she thought it would feel heavier.
The box seems a little cheap for the price

Congrats on the purchase, thinking of picking up one myself. Let me know how is shoots, any particular reason you got one, besides being an HK?

Why the P30? Well, my short list was this, the P200sk and the USP9c.
I am a lefty, and I could not find a Var4 USP, so that one fell off the list. I know I could have it converted, but I just didn't want the hassle. Plus the USPc is a bit bigger than the P30.
That left the P2k and the P30. I guess it came down to comfort and capacity. They both have replaceable rear straps but the P30 has the side pieces too. Add the 15 round capacity of the P30 and that was it. I was done.
There is a good chance that the next HK will be the P2Ksk, as I feel once my wife realizes that she wants her own, it would be a great piece for her.

PS - Once you get past the mistakes in the manual on disassembly (they only give directions for the P2K, and the P30 is different) it is a BREEZE to field strip. Seems much easier than I remember my old USP9 was to strip.

Congrats! I have one also. You should really enjoy it. I agree that the manual is somewhat confusing but it is a snap to field strip. If you notice the right take down lever has some play from what I understand that's normal too. It's a great shooter though. I have about 300 or so rounds through mine with WWB with no problems whatsoever but then again, it is an HK!

Hey, I brought home mine yesterday! Nice feeling gun. I need more practice with a trigger and my grip. I plan to get night sights for her soon.
So far, 200 rounds from +P to 147 grains. I can't stop it!!! I ordered another 500 rounds.
I have also P2000 in 9mm. P30 acts like would have less recoil. Both have their own character or style. Another toy for Christmas. Yes, my wife calls them toys.
Happy Holidays!

I'm still partial to the grip on the USP, but these are nice. I read an article about some of the fed's recently signing a contract with HK to switch to the P30 from the Sig they are currently carrying.

Yah, but bless her heart, she prefers guns with the 'pretty silver part on the top'. Heh heh. Have to wait for the SS slide version.

LOL...my wife recently requested a matte hard chrome finish on the slide of her new P30.
