Was told to use lead ammo to shoot at steel targets. Thought you weren't suppose to use lead in an HK??

I have a P2000sk in .40 cal. what should I use??

Thanks,

Paul B

Avoid shooting lead out of any polygonal barreled firearm. Simply use standard ammo.

I was told the same thing when I first got into steel targets, FMJ ammunition runs a higher risk of ricochet then lead, that is why they tell you that. I use FMJ and every once in awhile I will get hit with some of the Jacket. Just be sure to were quality eye protection and that the steel your shooting at has no imperfections that could cause a more severe ricochet, the smoother the steel the better.

I shoot indoor IDPA with a steel backdrop. We get splashback all the time. I use the ESS ICE glasses with prescription inserts. Read up on 'em. They're excellent.
