View Full Version : Grips for P7, which ones for CDNN P7?

I purchased one of the CDNN P7's and after receiving it, the weapon appears to be in great shape except the left grip has a gouge in it write where the writing is. From my research it appears that the early P7 shares everything and is essentially the same as the PSP even though not designated on all of the models. I found some walnut grips and they were listed for P7 PSP, P7M8, and P7M13. I know it is neither of the last and ordered the first one. I just want to make sure I'm not going to end up with something I can't use.

Thanks

TDH,
The Nill Grips website explains the difference. Follow the link, on the home page click on SERVICE the FAQ, look for the P7 grip question. I believe CDNN is selling both 12 and 18mm versions.

Thanks for that info. I've had a few USP's for years but never had a P7. I just bought one to see what all the rave was about. Mine is definitely the 18mm version as the mag release is the full width of the grip. I placed a bid on these on gunbroker http://v4.beta.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=119085716

Since those are for the PSP will they work? They just say P7 on the grip but it says PSP in the title. I e-mailed him as he seems to be pretty lax with the return policy. I hope they work or he sells the ones that will.

Looks like the right grip shape to me. Those are beautiful. I'm tempted myself.

He has 3 sets listed. I'm sure he has more than one of each. The buy it now price was 81.00. I bid 79.00 because it was the entry price and I'm stingy enough to wait for 2 bucks. :) If you end up with them instead of me let me know how they fit ;)

They are yours. I wouldn't do that.

Be cautious. Grips for a REAL PSP will not work on the P7. The REAL PSPs will have the mag release extending BELOW the grip and the grips are shorter. The P7 has the grips extended and the mag release is covered. MAKE sure you know what you are buying and the seller knows what they are selling.
Even though HK is marking these pistols as PSP, if you do the research you will find they are actually P7s and the honest to God real PSPs are a completely different pistol.
From his photos they look to be for the P7 even though he states PSP in the description, and these are what CDNN is selling.

FYI:
An actual P7-PSP. Notice the mag release extending below the grips.

Now the P7s, and what most are calling PSPs but they are not. Notice the mag release if flush.

I think the grips listed on Gunbroker have been discussed extensively on PCT (http://www.parkcitiestactical.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=10;t=014002).

OUCH! Thanks for posting the PCT link. I very seldom go there anymore and had not seen that thread. Looking at the grips in the picture I was tempted to take a closer look, but after those two threads I think I will be sticking with Nills. I am getting too old and have too much bad luck and I don't need any more aggravation. I would be just like the guy who got two bad sets from him or if the grip broke he would not stand behind them. Of course the installer did screw up by leaving the slide on. With the Nill or HK/Nill grips it is very clear that you need to remove the slide. Apparently this guy gives no instructions with the grips.

So, when you get those grips, TAKE THAT DARNED SLIDE OFF before installing or you will be SOL like the last guy was when they broke.

Sounds like they are hit or miss. I definitely have the P7 with the wider flush mag release. I sent him an e-mail to ask him which ones those were and he sent a response that didn't really answer my question. I guess we'll see when they get here.

Thanks for all the responses.

I'm glad someone mentioned the other thread. I would not have thought to remove the slide prior to installing. Sad thing is I won't be able to install them for a while because I'm planning on sending my P7 to either Mahovsky's or Robar for a complete refinish on Friday or Monday as soon as I can decide which.

I was leaning toward Mohovsky's because of the price but with the 20% off Robar Christmas special there isn't a huge difference. Its still more but not a whole lot more.

On another note CDNN extended the P7 sale until like the 27th. I'm debating buying a second one.

Thats the main reason I looked at these grips is that the Nill grips are impossible to find at the moment. Almost as hard to find as carbon fiber grips for the Rohrbaugh.

Unless RoBar extended that Xmas special, it ended on the 19th of December.

I would like to see those grips when you get them. I'll drop you a line on BS.com.

I shot you a pm back on the other board. The Robar special was extended until the 31st.

I would suggest just buying another PSP at CDNN and forget about additional grips for the meantime. BULLIT I see you have a P30 and a P30L ... I have handled the p30L.... am debating on buying... you obviously love the gun .. since you have both versions... any advice to me on the guns would be appreciated. I have never felt the p30 in my hand. thx
