Just to answer a question that I am wondering about, is there a reason HK (or any manufacturer for that matter) chooses a certain type of trigger guard for it's models. For instance the USPc has a trigger guard that points forward toward the bottom, where as the USP has a regular trigger guard, like the HK45 and HK45c. P30 has the USPc guard, the P2000 has the USP guard...

To add to the confusion, on the HK-USA website two different photographs of the P2000 have different type trigger guards. Which is better, (for those folks who have used both...)

For me, the differences have no effect on function. None are better or worse. The P2000 with the slanted front of the trigger guard also has the HK poprietary rail, instead of the standardized rail. I may be wrong, but I think those are the European version.

For me, the trigger guard on the HK45 is my biggest complaint when I compare it to my USP. The large trigger guard on my USP is possibly my favorite feature over other pistols since I have pretty large hands. I believe that they used the smaller trigger guard on the HK45, P30, and USPc to allow for more rail space, which I do not believe is worthwhile substitution.

With that said, I still think the majority of the changes on the HK45/P30 are superior to those features on the USP...with the exception to the trigger guard.
