This was some of the most fun I have ever had. Very cool scenarios and a great group of people, not to mention that I did a lot better than I expected to do my first time out.

I entered in SSP, so I had to fire my stock USP .40 double-action for my first shot, which is what I was most worried about. Good news is that I don't think I missed a single one of my first shots, even one handed and on the move :D. Anyways, check out the score card. I'm number 13 and came in 13th overall, which is 2nd out of 5 for SSP with no shooting qualification and 5th out of 12 total SSP shooters.

I am also trying to figure out whether or not I want to change my trigger up at all for future competitions...because there will definitely be more. I can't decide if I want to spend a good deal of money and time sending it to HK and get the LEM or Combat Competition trigger...or if I should send it off to Bill Springfield and get him to work on the stock trigger.

I'm sure both will be a major improvement, but I could save a good deal of money and time using Mr. Springfield.

Opinions?

Good job!

You should be proud of that. I have a friend that competes in those, I am thinking about trying it out.

I would send it to Bill springfield, I hear nothing but good things about him.

I would like the experience, but I would be afraid of doing poorly. How is the atmosphere at those, are people pretty accepting even if you aren't overly impressive?

It's nothing that is overly intimidating, even the first time. Just find a match being held locally and go check one out. The only area where they would be temperamental is with regard to SAFETY. Turbocharged, great shooting your first match!

The people were extremely accepting and very helpful if you had any questions. I was asked a handful of times by various officials/coordinators if I was having fun and that they hope to see me at future events.
