.......but they don't make them for the HK pistols. I went to a indoor range to fire my newly aquired 9mm USP compact, and while waiting for my friend to show up I eyeballed a display of CRIMSON TRACE grip lasers, on some plastic mock up pistols. These are the ones that have the switch at the front strap, or the back, intergrated into the grip, that turns the laser on with just a squeeze of you hand.
It's not like the run of the mill lasers, that attach to the front rail where you have to turn the thing on and off, or the hookey kind that you velcro on the switch to the grip, and there is a wire running along the pistol to the laser unit. But wouldn't you know it, they make then for just about ever make of pistol except the HK

I hear you. I am not too keen on putting some clunky boxy laser on the pistol, where you have to flip a switch to turn it on. Guess I'll have to keep shooting it the old fashion way, iron sights :D

My experience with a laser was it was great for practice at the range. Any gun movement will be greatly magnified on the paper target such as flinching. Otherwise the laser was useless. Sold it off and never looked back.

What about the small Lasermax, not the guide rod model but the one for the rail. You can get it in green. They say it's supposed to be better to see during the day. And it has rails built into the laser housing so if you wanted to put a light on it you could. I thought about one but they are pretty expensive.

I got one of those (UniMax - Red) and sometimes I use it on my P30.
I switch it on with my support's hand thumb as I move my in place and switch it off with the trigger finger. Not bad!

Hayuya, is that that the switch on the back side by the trigger guard with the serrations on it?
Do you have a light to go underneath the laser unit?
It looks like you don't need a rail adapter either!?/ More pics Please

Yes, That is the switch. It's ambidextrous, so you can press it from either side of the gun and release it by pressing from the opposite side.
It does have a Rail, so yo can mount a light under it. Unfortunately, I don't have a light, so I can't show you. I'll try post more pics tonight.

My take on a laser is that it would be great for a carry weapon. If the lighting conditions are bad, and you haven't fully drawn the weapon, NO OTHER method will offer you a possible shot to stop the bad guy....
Yes, there are limitations, but in situations where you can't get a good sight picture, they are a great tool...

I tried the lasermax in green for bowling pins. It was not that visible in the daylight. Then the thing started acting up on me so back it went. I just decided to learn how to shoot the iron and leave the holographic site to being mounted on my Ruger Mark III.
Our local HK hotshoe shot the gun with the Lasermax on it. He held it at his chest level and ragged a half dollar hole with an 18 shot clip. It was accurate but was not visible enough in bright light and was not relaiable enough, at least the one I had wasn't.
GOOD LUCK
