I would like to put a set of night sights on my USP Compact .45. I ran into a buddy of mine over the weekend who told me about shooting a gun recently and the front sight was open so it allowed in more light. Can any of you guys recommend the best sights available and the best place to purchase them.
Thanks,

Night sights are not always the answer for sights for a few reasons.
1: If one is using nightsights in complete darkness and then turns on their light to ID the target, your nightsights will go out from the backlight.
2: Sometimes focusing on the front sight is hard, having three glowing dots in pitch black makes focusing onthe front sight even harder.
3: If you shoot a shot in complete darkness, it is like someone taking your picture in complete darknee, you will see nothing but colors. The only way to over come this is to turn on a light, thus making your nightsights go out.
I believe the perfect combination is a fiber optic front sight and plain rear. There is so much ambi light in the world that your fiber optic will collect some of it. If you really want a night sight I would suggest just getting a front night sight. That way you can easily focus in your front sight in the darkness.

Installed MMC adjustable sights on my USPC .45 about 8 years ago. Also have them on my P2000SK.

Unfortunately for P2000 owners, there are a limited number of sights available. The best solution is something like the Heinie sights because it means one only has to align in the vertical plain. Furthermore, the rear "dot" is very small in relation to the top dot (I think this is correct). Thus, one would get the front sight picture.
I have to agree with Adam, the 3 dot night sights pretty much suck because the eye is trying to align THREE things in both horizontal and vertical planes - this is actually quite slow. Even with the Heinie sights, if one were to just align (not dot the dot) the dot's in the same vertical plane, then he or she would just shoot a little bit low - probably not a big deal at CQB distances. Better to show low vertically than off to the right or left!!
