Which would you choose, and why?

I've already got a 9mm (Sig P226), and I'm looking to get a USP sometime in the future. I'm just stumped on whether I should stick with 9mm or if I should step up and go with the .45.

As far as I can tell the only difference betwen the two are caliber and the O-ring threaded barrel on the Tactical.

Depends, are you going to get a suppressor for the Hk Tactical. If not I woud go with the Sport in 9mm.

I would stick to one caliber. I'm kind of a worse case scenerio guy, and I like knowing all the ammo I've stocked up will work with any of my pistols. I have never shot an O ring barrell, but I've read several posts on this forum that people couldn't tell a difference between the o ring and the regular.

Depends on what caliber you favor also.

I would go with the .45t because it has everything the 9mm does plus more.
More stopping power as well.

That threaded barrel is what makes it a tactical.

Two important facts to remember:

1. The USP Tactical also gives you a match trigger and adjustable sights. (I love mine!)

2. Every man needs to own a 45, in some shape or form.

The Custom Sports in Canada seem to be very similar to the Tacticals:

- threaded barrel
- match trigger
- raised/adjustable sights
- over-travel screw
- no o-ring on the 9mm, but this is normal from what I can tell (even on the SD's)

If you're a new shooter I would recommend the Custom Sport in 9mm. It was my first handgun and is great. And I agree with benderx4, time for a .45 will follow shortly after.
