View Full Version : HK45C - Infidel or CTAC?

I can't make up my mind. I prefer the CTAC to the MTAC, so no MTAC for me. I don't like leather so no option there.

I have no issues with the CTAC except for one - I miss my multi-tool. The only thing I dislike on the CTAC is that I cannot wear my Leatherman where I want to.

So, I see that the Infidel may be my answer. My config would be the Infidel with the Infidel belt clip and a CTAC strut. The only possible issue I may have is the Infidel belt clip - when I squat or sit the standard clips tend to pop off my belt. I use the C-clips exclusively due to this. I generally wear my holster at the 3 o'clock or 3:30 position, FWIW.

Does anyone use an Infidel in the config I described? I'd love to hear feedback on the setup.

Thanks!

You should look into raven concealment too. I think it may conceal better than the comp tac holsters and is also very modular in the different attachments you can get for it (OWB, paddle, IWB leather loops, IWB clips, etc).

I just checked their website - it sucks. While they may make a holster as good as or better than Comp-Tac, I am put off by the presentation and am not willing to take a chance on them.

Also, they do not list the HK45C.

Thanks for the lead though.

I have an Infidel setup like what you want and it works great for me.

They're actually very good. If you search this and other forums, you'll see a lot of positive feedback. Customer service is excellent. I have one for my HK45 which I since sold.
But you're right. Still nothing for the HK45c. I'm on the list for when they eventually get one to mold from.

As I noted in a previous thread Raven have claimed to be '1 month away' for the C since summer 08. I asked them about it several times from Sep-Dec and in the end got bored of being strung along. Apparently they are nice holsters, but I would caution you against holding your breath. I've now ordered elswhere and whilst I have a wait, at least I know that it is actually happening.

Agreed. This wait for the 45c is irritating to say the least. Only reason I have one on order for this gun is I returned one for my 45+TLR-2 which I had no more use for once I sold the gun. Jay agreed to take that one back in exchange for a new 45c holster.
But as for the ones thay actually have in stock, they're a good product.

Well having a credit with them would certainly make me a little more patient. At the risk of getting off track how much was your car holster setup? It looks to be a handy little item.

Think it was $60ish including tax/shipping.

Thanks, I wonder if that would pass for concealed in Tx. My car is nearly 40 years old and apparently they didn't see the need for cubbyholes and consoles back then.

Think you're outta luck in the Lone Star State (from handgunlaw.us)

I wonder how subjectivly plain view can be interpreted though. With my high doors, tinted glass and low seats I doubt very much anyone could see anything unless I opened the door without relocating the pistol first. With me in the drivers seat I doubt anyone would be any the wiser at all. One to ponder at least, although I wouldn't want to be the test case.

Problem is if you get pulled over. Reaching down to grab your firearm to put it in your holster will look mighty suspicious to the LEO behind you. And if he/she sees the holster on your seat, you may be asking for a world of hurt.

My apologies Coogan.

BH, you're likely right. LE seem to have a rather peculiar liking for my wheels already and I would probably be asking for trouble. Such is life. :2300000:

Don't use the setup your looking for but I do know that Comp Tac produces a quality holster. Their customer service is also exceptional.

Because of their website?? Please. Raven Concealment is very highly recommended. I'm sure people who recommend them like larry Vickers would be amused to know that you are so sensitive. If it makes you feel any better they are upgrading it soon. But they are busy because they have far more orders than they can handle.

Dude, are you serious?

Yes, the website sucks. I didn't buy from them - get over it. Sorry if I hurt your fanboi feelings.

BTW - would you mind explaining how I am "sensitive" because I chose not to spend my money on a product *I* have no experience with based off of the manufacturers presentation?

Sounds like you answered your own question about the Infidel. I ran a forum search for "infidel" and found a lot of information. You might try doing that if you are not satisfied with the responses you get here. Judging from your attitude so far, you aren't.

The question remains unanswered, but it is moot. I am buying a CTAC from a fellow member.

BTW - which search result thread had the answer to my question? Or were you simply being pretentious?

Found it in two minutes... one of many threads. Second poster on that page looks like someone to talk to.

Lighten up... you have a bad day or something?

I carry a HK45C daily in an Infidel with the dual belt loops. I initially had the belt clip but it was too bulky for me. I also use a flat base plate USP 45C mag in the gun to make it more concealable compared to the factory finger extension mags. Great system with excellent concealment and retention.

Here in Arizona open carry is legal. I'm surprised we can do something that you cannot do in Texas.

Infidel holster is great btw.

I have both the infidel and the CTac. the CTAC feels more sturdy when wearing it, the infidel is easier to take on and off. I tend to use the CTAC when planing on going out for a while, I throw on the infidel when leaving in a hury. I see the infidel as the more casual of the two.
