So after a few weeks of be undecided on what I wanted I finally settled on a HK 45c LNIB for $780 +s/h. It has less than 100 rounds through it and perfect condition. After not finding the P30 in stock anywhere I went with the 45c. What do you guys think of the price I got.

Oh and it is my first pistol so it was a big deal to drop that much but the HK's seem very versital and reliable.

Thanks a bunch!

Hoss

I'd say you did OK. I did better, but I was lucky. I haven't seen them cheaper than you paid for a while although I only check up on the NIB ones. Nice gun.

Well just how well did you do and when you purchased the gun is relative as prices fluctuate wildly.

When you shoot it give us a range report. Mine shot really well.

It's my favorite handgun. I would say the price was fair. The most important thing is that you're happy with the gun. They shoot great and look terrific. Congrats.

What is a good price these days? It's seems I may not have got an average deal? I have been looking for quite a while and hadn't seen any for sale and the older deals I've seen for $750 for a gun with a few thousand rounds through it. Last I checked CDNN had them for $891 brand new last but they don't have any in stock right now.

Anybody want to share what they paid and if it was new or used?

I bought mine NIB in early Oct. I paid $757 delivered which included a 3% CC fee & overnight shipping. As I said even at that time (pre osama) I was fortunate (I think!)

EDIT: As a footnote a $100 or so saving on a pistol is always nice, but very small potatoes when you start picking up mags, accessories, cleaning supplies, ammo and pay the man for your CCW. My HK45C "experience" has cost me about $2300 so far. That is without fancy lights, sights, lasers and alike. Whilst not cheap I'm set up for at least a year supply wise and have nothing (that I want) left to get. If it didn't cost a grand to go 'all in' I would be tempted to get a TB & suppressor, but for that money I'd sooner go on 'olidays. You did OK.

I love my Hk45C(s)!! I bought the first (2-AH date code) on seperate dates from the same on-line dealer. The total was $919.00 each shipped. I had a used one that I traded for but had to sell it to fund my kids xmas. I bought my 3rd Hk45C (AI & "DE") to replace the one I sold. I bought it NIB from CDNN for $829.00 w/ free shipping just before xmas along with a NIB P2000SK 357/40. I also bought a NIP factory Hk45C threaded barrel from sgcusa.com

I think you did great with choice & price!

$759? Where did you get that crazy deal from? I got my 45c from CDNN right before the price hike. Got an additional 4 10rd mags with the hideous base plate from Midway and the threaded barrel locally from SGC. Next up is Heinies and a SWR or Knights can. Can you say money pit?

I bought it from Jeremiah @ Backwoods Guns in OH. Whilst I didn't ask too many questions I got the impression that they didn’t do a lot of HK and just wanted it gone. The gun itself was $710 which just goes to show how much of a margin these folks have off of wholesale. They have a shop and are not an internet warehouse as far as I could tell. I'd like to say that I did my homework, greased some palms and called in a few favours but basically I was just looking in the right place at the right time. I decided against the 10 Rnders (look and feel) and ordered myself 4 more 8's instead and have since put the flat plates on 3 out of the total of 6. I've found no need for aftermarket sights so far although due to some bureaucracy with Nics I was only able to collect the gun from my FFL on NYE and so far have only 150 rounds through it. A can would be nice, but adding up all the costs that kind of money could either pay for a P7 or a week away. I've got the bug, but have so far managed to just about keep hold of my senses.

10rnders are atrocious to look at, but I actually prefer the feel of the extended baseplate. My only gripe about the 45c is the grip is a bit small for my hands. The alternative is too large a gun that prints too much under a shirt. Lesser of two evils. I just keep the 8 rd loaded on my hip and the 10's as spares.
Night sights themselves are not biggie for me either, but with a can, you need taller sights, which apparently the Heinies accomplish. Plus, they look tacticool:)

My job precludes me from going on vacation very much, so may as well spend my money on this nonsense:D

My wife has bigger hands than me (yes, I know crosses to bear &c) and the standard grip with the standard mags are a delight for me. For the reasons you state the C was the right choice for me to and I can live without the extra 2 (especially with 4 more mags to use). Tacticool is alluring to be sure, but for me there is a fine line to be tread when tricking up a compact. Nevertheless a can would be a nice add on to have if I could only justify both the time and the cost. Be sure to let me know how it works out though, I never say never and my work related sabbatical can't last forever (doesn't pay so well sadly)
