Even if using an IWB is the HK45 hard to conceal? I'm used to smaller pistols so I'm wondering how hard it is to conceal the grip on this thing?
I know a good holster and belt helps a lot but what are your experiences? What are you wearing- Tshirts, button down shirts, etc. ??

I have a mernickle paddle holster I use at the range, I have concealed the HK45 under a leather coat with the mernickle.

http://www.raftersgunleather.com/ I would like to get one of these in crocodile for my HK45.

Raven concealment has worked well for many with the HK45.

For CC I would rec the HK45C. You could always use the 10 round mags if you wanted extra capacity. I thought the HK45 was a really big gun to hold.

I CCW an HK 45 with a Raven Concealment holster without issue but I'm a big guy. Depends on your body type I suppose.

Body type is important as is the cover garment. I'm 6'2, 210-215. Not a small guy. I used a RCS Phantom at 4:30ish and had a real hard time with printing. Loose shirts/sweatshirts make it a bit easier, but bending and even walking would reveal the grip.

Here's some pics with me standing still. Not too bad, but any movement and the you could see it jutting out. That's why I got rid of it and got the 45c. YMMV.

Thats true. But I'm a lot bigger than you so my shirts generally cover it fine.

I am 5'6 190lbs (stocky) with 34 in waist, carried HK45 in a Raven Concealment holster. I've used it as a CCW, but have been rethinking as it is too large. I switched back to a P225, and realized how large the HK was. I think I may revert back to a Commander Size 1911 or HK45c as I prefer 45acp.

I've had plenty of pricey 1911's that cost two or three time the Hk45c and I would take the Hk45c over any of them.

With some searching around here and a few other places it seems the RCS holster does a good job of hiding this thing IWB. Really I think the challenge is hiding the grip, as Bonehead illustrated, but I wonder if wearing it a little more forward than that would help?

If not I suppose the HK45 could be traded for a HK45C.
