Can someone post pics of the regular Slant Pros and the QWIK slant pros? Preferably for the HK45 or 45c but any will do. Trying to decide if I want the wider sights in the rear. Thanks

Since the sights are interchangeable between the HK45, HK45c, P30, and P30L it can be pics with those sights on any of those guns. Bubbaman posted a pic that you are looking for. I think they are the qwik slant pros but pm him to make sure. I personally got the qwik slant pros and love em.

Something to keep in mind with the rear notch widths: The shorter your sight radius is, the "narrower" your rear notch will seem because your front sights appears closer/larger and less light comes past. I have had 2 sets of Heinie's, the 0.140" on my HK45c and the 0.156" (QWIK) on a G19. 0.125" is the standard, and keep in mind Heinie originally designed this standard for 1911's which have a longer sight radius than the Hk45 and 45c.

I find that sight acquisition on the QWIK setup is very fast on the G19, but it is a very wide rear notch and I feel like it lets too much light through. That makes it harder for me to line up windage quickly for more accurate shots. Because of this, I went with the 0.140" notch on the HK45c (similar sight radius to G19). I have found this to be the perfect balance between speed/quick sight acquisition and accuracy for me. On a full size HK45, I don't know whether I would stick with the 0.140" or go with the 0.125". On a full size 1911, I would stick with the standard 0.125" and on a subcompact glock like a G26, I would go with a 0.156".

This is just what I've found works best for me. It's going to be partially dependent on the user. If you want the sight picture to look roughly the same on an HK45c and HK45, I'd go with a step wider rear sight on the 45c than whatever you decide to get on the full size 45.

Thanks for the info.
givo: can you tell me which # sight you ordered for your 45c from the website?

$150 it would have cost for those sights and they use set screws that dont even sit flush. There are 2 set screws per sight and if you do a search on here you will notice the screws sit above the level of the sight surface. I thought it looked horrible and at that price couldnt justify such an eye sore.

I do really like the dot layout but couldnt get over the set screws. I just thought I would warn you about this as it something other may not notice.

Small price to pay for first class sights. They are finished in other areas better then anything available. It is a simple task to remove some steel at the bottom of the set screws to make them sit flush. Screw the set screw in with the sight off of the slide and draw file or grind the bottom of the set screw.

If not Heinie, what about the MMCs/PT night sights. A very similar setup can be had, as somebody kindly alerted me to last night.

Again, not available for the HK45/45c. I only asked for pics of the Heinie b/c they are the only ones (that I am aware of) that have night sights available for these pistols.

I thought about this but it is very easy to bugger up the screws and strip out the holes which would suck on that expensive a sight. I just dont get why Heinie would release them like this and especially when considering the cost. They do look sexy and very well made but they sure over looked this part.

After reading your post I went straight for my p30L with Heinie straight 8 slant pro's. I assume you are referring to the front sight as the rear set screws are below the sight surface with a beveled design. The front sight set screws sit a minute hair above the surface. You really have to use your finger nail or angle the gun a certain way to catch the reflection of light to accurately judge the amount that they may be sitting above the sight surface. It really is that minuscule.

I am meticulous about all details and would have never even studied the set screws if I had not read your post b/c frankly nothing looks off. The sights encumber the best machining detail work for sights that I have come across thus far. The sights match the contour lines for the p30/hk45 line perfectly in style. When I compare and contrast other leading manufacturers sights to the Heinie's, it is evident that you are getting much more for your money in terms of craftsmanship and quality.

With all that being said, I must point out that Mr. Heinie installed my sights. Could this be the x factor? I can testify that if Mr. Heinie installs your sights, you will praise them! The only aspect that one should ponder, is if you like the 2 dot configuration.

I only have seen pics from research done here and via PM request for more pics. All of which had at least a 1/16th high set screw on both front and rear sights. I guess because you had yours done professionally and didnt just DIY maybe they payed attention to details more.
