Bought this today. pic: P30L (http://img300.imageshack.us/img300/580/mxgearet0531nu1.jpg)
Did a light/quick cleaning with CLP and went range bound.
~275 rounds of 115/147 etc. Blazer/WWB/DPX
First 2-3 shots were FTEs
After that not a single issue. :680: - (CLP loosening up parts?)
I bought this just for how it fit my hand. The fact that is works well is a bonus. :100000:

It seems that the new p30s need a few hundred round break in period because of that hard recoil spring designed for NATO or +p ammo.

Thanks.
Too bad their stuff is wallet zapping...I'd like some more. :20000000:

I didnt need any break in for my P30 or my P30L. I got the P30L 5 months sgo, so i dont know if that would be considered to be a "new" one.

Both my P30L and my HK45 needed to be broken in a bit. Not a single issue in 1,000 rounds through each since then.

Congrats on your purchase. It's been around on this board for a while, the problem with the strong spring. Quite a few of the guys around here never had any issues, so I think it might be an initial cleaning issue. There might be a magic spot that only the diehards initially clean, or something to that effect. either hoo, you did fine, and I'm glad to hear it.

racking the slide a few 100 times will also help work it in.

Congrats on your new P30L. I just got my P30 about a week ago maybe a little more, and only have 60 rounds through it, but no FTE's or FTF's. It is an excellent weapon, check out my range report in the range report section. And that was shooting it straight out of the box, no CLP bath or anything, and it was soaked when I took it to the range, man I love this gun! I can't wait to A: get more time with it on the range, B: get it broken in. :)
