ok through all of your recommendations and answers to my questions I have purchased a P2000sk 9mm LEM from clyde's. thanks for the help. now I need one final piece of advice, a holster. I believe a high class gun like an HK should have a relatively equal holster, so here are my needs. it will be carried 6 days a week as a CCW and I don't really have a preferance on position. would lean more towards IWB but a hip is an option as well. thanks for any help.

A holster is a very personal decision. Your experience will vary a lot depending on body composition, size, etc. The type of clothing you wear will also affect your decision.
About the one thing that's almost universal is that a good gun belt can make all the difference in the world.
But you really need to go try a bunch on. Gunshows are a good option. Milt Sparks, Mitch Rosen, Del Fatti, and other "custom" makers all make holsters that are made specifically to fit a P2000sk, as well as other HK models. Then you have the more off the shelf types that may not be quite as comfortable, or not fit quite as well, and are made from less exotic materials. You also have to choose between Kydex, a hard plastic, or many different leathers.
The custom types can run a few hundred $$$ and take a looooong time to get. There are some places that stock the custom ones as well, like http://lightningarms.com/products.htm.

If you have patience, and 85.00 and are looking for a IWB holster I would highly recommed Milt Sparks SSII. There only downside is the waiting period...But quality and craftsmanship is top shelf...just like HK's

If you're looking for maximum concealability on a IWB, then a CTAC or MTAC is you're best bet. As far as the best leather holsters I haven't a clue.

Holsters come in a few different catagories. Quality, Price, WAIT... It is very hard to find a maker that is all three. For example, DelFati, Milt Sparks, Bullman, 5shot leather, Alessi, are often regarded as some of the best, but there holsters arrive in months to years... Few stocking dealers exist. Lightingarms is one, but you pay a premium. There are many other makers that aren't as good, and the wait is just as long. Call around and ask. One idea is to buy something that is quicker to receive of very good quality, while you wait for your XXXX brand high quality. Some of the makers I have ordered from in the past that were very, very good quality, also very fast (around a month or so), and had good prices were: Tauris holsters (not to be confused with the gun company), Little feather leather, and Ted Blocker. The worst thing you can do is spend alot of money, wait way to long, and get something that isn't all that great...so again, whomever you decide to order from, find out how long it's gonna take....Good Luck. And finally, why are you only gonna carry 6 days a week....

I have a carreer that ties up most of my time so me and my family have agreed that sundays are our time to catch up on life together. I have not left my house on a sunday in over 9 months. :p

all of the above advice is top notch. however, I'm not a holster snob, and really don't care for the waiting period of some of the above named holsters, I just don't have the patience?
for comfortable IWB carry, my brother uses a Galco summer comfort for his sk, I use one for my HK45c. We both really like this holster. It fits all of my needs for a concealed carry holster, and has a modest price, I think I gave $50 or so for mine and there was no waite, you just have to find a gun store who has it in stock.. It is of good quality and has functioned perfectly for me?
just one more thing to think about.. good luck
PS: I like your Sunday schedule, we try to do the same thing, but for us it's Tue.

First is a double thick belt--- Cabella's $40.00. They hold your pant and gun up.
Second, take a look at the Fist Holster web-page. All custom fit, great workmanship, thin Kydex or leather. Normally 4 to six weeks shipping.
They have 50 different flavors.

+1. While I appreciate how nice the "premium" holsters are, production holsters like Desantis and Galco work just fine for me.
I carry my P2000SK in a Desantis "Pro-Stealth" IWB. It is also made of a durable nylon material that does not wear on the weapons finish, if that's something you are concerned with. So comfortable that if I'm awake I am wearing it. :)
I was interested in a sparks but the wait time of 6mths turned me off, I went with a mitch rosen osd express and it took about a month to get and was right around 100(same price range as sparks). I am very happy with it, the quality is top notch, fit and finish is supreme. I plan to have some pics and a review soon but I need alittle time to get it together
At first impression I am overly impressed with my mitch rosen and the turn around time is one of the best I have seen for custom leather holdters

I like the Desantis leather belt holster with the suede lining. The lining is so soft and smooth.

I have heard alot of good things about Mitch Rosen. I took a chance and ordered his new USD II IWB and matching belt. I have about nine weeks left until its here, but I'll let you know when it arrive. When I worked for the Gov. I used a Galco Jackass rig for years carrying a 1911. Very very comfortable and well built rig for the money. I still have the rig and I have take care of it (leather conditioner) its still in great shape and I use it on occasion. I purchased it back in 1986. Thats my two cents.:83:

I just received a Crossbreed snapslide and it holds my P30 in such a way as to make it feel lighter on my belt. Im really liking it.
