This is a subjective question: How would one compare the trigger pull of the DA/SA variant P2000? I have a friend that is looking at the pistol and is concerned about the DA/SA pull (DA on the first shot and SA on subsequent shots). She's handled a Sig P226 and can't stand the DA pull on the first shot. Because she hasn't bought the pistol yet and it's the only one the dealer has, she's unable to dry fire it. What can I tell her to expect about the trigger characteristics of the P2000?

If she doesn't like the SIG DA/SA, she won't like the HK P2000 v3 any better. Is she familiar enough with handguns to consider a USP compact, v1, for the option of cocked and locked?

Negative. She's been out on four shooting sessions and decided that she wants a P2000. She's tried the USP9 (grip too big for her hands but she shoots it accurately), Sig P226 (too big and blocky for her grip as well as the decock lever's position annoys her, not to mention the DA pull), S&W M&P9 (she shoots well with it but doesn't like the way it feels in her hand), Glock 17 (she shoots best with this but finds the grip size too big). When she picked up the P2000 she liked the grip and grip angle. She found that the sights were to her liking also.

Glock 17 (she shoots best with this but finds the grip size too big).
What about the Glock 19? Smaller grip and about the same size as the P2000. Plus it shoots just as well as the Glock 17 which as you said she shoots the best.
Unless she learns to like the DA/SA then the P2000 is not the gun for her. Have her check out the P2000 with LEM trigger if she is set on the P2000 grip.
u can order the p2000 with a 5 lb dao trigger in v2 ....that what i did

I thought I read elsewhere (sticky?) that you can't order the P2K with the lighter LEM trigger. If you want it, it has to be an aftermarket modification. So this is wrong?
Just ask for V2 with the lighter trigger?
Or is it considered V1?

If she shoots the Glock trigger well, she would probably like the light LEM trigger. I used to own and shoot Glocks (until I shot my first H&K:)), and I think they are very similar in that they have a consistent trigger pull from shot to shot. The LEM trigger has more initial take-up, but IMHO it is a very safe feature and the short, SA-like reset allows for fast rapid firing. I prefer the longer initial take-up on the LEM trigger to the excessive trigger creep on the Glock trigger when it breaks.
You can do the light LEM yourself. All you need is $10 worth of parts (two springs) directly from H&K. I did mine myself and the results are seriously amazing. I love my LEM trigger. I might even like it better than the SA trigger on my USP.40 Compact (V1). I still haven't decided yet.

I have a P2000 AH date code V3 in 9mm.
I'm a self-confessed DA/SA hater, but I don't mind the first DA pull so much.
Unlike Sig, CZ, etc., the DA pull is smooth with little to no stacking.
You can easily swap out the hammer spring for a 10 or 12# from a USP compact and reduce the pull weight a bit.
Mine runs 100% with the 10#, but I wouldn't want to risk a potential light strike in a defensive scenario.
I've yet to find an LEM gun to try as they are impossible to find anywhere I've looked.
