Was wondering if anyone knows of any rail lights or rail light/laser combos that fit the HK 45c. I have tried several brands at my local gun store and nothing seems to fit. The Viridian X5L looks like a possibility, but I would need to know specifically if it works. Any information would be appreciated.

The Streamlight TLR-1 will work. All you have to do is take out the small metal piece inside the front of the mount mechanism on the TLR-1 and turn it around and reposition it to the rear of the light and put a piece of duct tape to hold it in place (for when you take it off the pistol).

It's really funny you mention this.
I just ordered a Veridian X5L TODAY!
Obviously, it's not here yet, so I have no comments on it yet.
But, the guys at Veridian recommend GG&G rail for the HK USP. They come in standard and compact versions...

If you want a laser/light combo, the TLR-2 works the same way as well.

Insight X2L. It's made for sub-compacts. I want to get one, but I'm still deployed.

I bought the Viridian and a GG&G rail for a full sized HK USP45.
On looking at these pics again, it may actually be better to e-mail Viridian just to double check the fit of their laser to the HK45C.
Not to be a jerk or anything, but I'm not real fond of duct tape.
I also got a military discount from Viridian on my X5L. It went from $379 down to $329...so I ordered it!
All I did was set up an account, scan my ID card, e-mailed it to them, and they hooked me up. I like these guys already!
A note from Viridian's website...
Military, law enforcement, NRA Trainer, fire and EMTs are eligible for discounted purchases with proper identification (i.e. copy of ID card).
To receive this discount simply setup an account here. Then email us to have your account reassigned to this preferred account type. This will allow you to view (and purchase at) substantially reduced pricing.

The only problem with the X2L is that it has lower lumen output and lower battery life than it's full size competition.

Yes, but it (X2) doesn't extend past the barrel. Even makes it stand up upholstered in a back Levis' pocket.

can someone posts pics with the X2L? I look at the light/Laser as a back-up system, so it's not pertinent that it be super strong on a carry weapon, only that it works decently.

Thread revival...
I might pick up the Veridian X5L as well for my CT because I want a green laser with a light...does anyone have any new pictures of it on a full size or compact usp so I could get the idea?
Swampdragon maybe?

I don't have any pics of the Viridian at the moment.
The unit itself is really well made. I like it a lot!
The green laser is super bright and carries a long long way.
I mounted it to my full-size USP45 with a GG&G rail. It locks on rock solid.
I also own a Streamlight TLR-2 and have it mounted on my AK rifle.

Between the 2, the Streamlight light is brighter and more focused. It carries farther too. Yet at the same time, the red laser is not as good as Viridians green one. So I'd say it's a trade off of sorts.
But at the same time, the Viridian light is perfect for a pistol. It's light spreads out a little more, but is great for pistol distance ranges.
I would not mount one on a rifle, but for a pistol, it's a keeper.

it should also be mentioned that in about 3 weeks the Streamlight TLR-3 will be out, it is small enough to fit on the rail of a P2000SK... and would therefore be GREAT on a 45C...
looks like it will be under $100 and is a smaller version of the TLR-1 (same LED, etc)...
it will invalidate the Insight 2X... for the same money.

Does it have a laser too, or just a light?

Ok cool. Does the veridian stick out far on the full size? I'm trying to gauge what it will be like on the smaller version, whether it will be too large, etc.

Will the TLR-3 have a green laser option? Sounds interesting...

No, not at all. On my full-size, the Viridian is flush with the end of the barrel. It does not stick out at all like the Streamlight does on a pistol. It's much more compact.
Here's a pic of one on a compact. It fits the same way.
The only difference in fit between the full-size and compact is it sits closer to the trigger guard on the compact.

at this point the TLR-3 is a light only... no laser, dunno if they will try to add that later or what, I'm on the list for the first one "my guy" gets...

Gotcha. Kinda surprising though...doesn't the TLR-2 have a laser?

...doesn't the TLR-2 have a laser?
Yes.
And at night, it will shine 3 or 4 city blocks away.
During the day though, "red" lasers only show up at around 25 meters or so...
unless you are using magnified optics to look for it.
My TLR-2 is designated as night ops use.

Yea I thought so...its just surprising that the new TLR-3 isn't going to have a laser when its predecessor did.
i think I'm sold on the Viridian. I was about to place an order through their website, but it looks like they're back ordered about a month. I'll check out my local store and see if they have it in-stock.

Yep. It took about 3 weeks to get mine from Veridian.
It was worth the wait though. It's really cool.
