I have used various types of ammos, and I don't see a big wear on the magazines, but the slide will not lock open on my P30 after the last shot.
Anyone recommend as to what steps I should take to ensure proper functioning?
Thank you in advance.

Do you mean lock open AT ALL or will not lock open after the last shot? If the latter, your mag springs are worn out. If AT ALL, you need to post pics.

Yeah, the slide won't lock open after the last shot. Should have made that clear. Thank you for the info.
However, 4 magazines I own are fairly new. Can they wear out this quick?

Normally no. I have USP mags that are three years old and still a pain to get the last rounds in. Sometimes there are weak springs, maybe you got some.
Also, are you riding the slide release when you're shooting? Sometimes when I shoot thumbs forward I'll catch myself resting my thumb on the slide release. This normally results in a failure to lock back on the last round.
Edit: Does your slide release have tension on it? I mean is it functioning like it should?

Solidgun...I also shoot and enjoy a P30 and I think your problem may be with lightly loaded target ammo. I've found that American Eagle FMJ/115 gr will often cause the P30 to fail to lock back.(FLB) I just shot some Lawman(Speer) TMJ/115 gr. which seemed to be loaded more stoutly and did not produce any FLB's. You'll have to experiment with different ammo manufacturers to find the best combo. I've also tried Speer LE Gold Dot GDHP 124gr/+P, Federal Tactical HST 124gr,Federal Tactical HST 147 gr. without any malfunctions.
The recoil spring on the P30 is very stiff (to accommodate NATO Ball) and you may want to seek out +P ammo to ensure proper operation.

Thank you for all the great ideas. I think I may have deduced the cause down to my hand riding the slide release, but at the same time use of cheap ammo.
I practiced my natural grip (learned from 1911 grip) and noticed that my thumb will ride up sometimes.
But this didn't explain what happens when I shoot one handed. This part, I think was from cheap ammo as I have been running through cheap ammo for a while now.
Thanks for this discussion.

Well maybe you're riding the slide when shooting two handed; then when you're shooting one handed maybe there's some limp wrist problem?
Who knows

So, does this mean CCI Blazer target ammo isn't the best option?!

Went to the range earlier and used several ammos, including Blazers.
No problems anymore....I think I was riding the slide release.
However, the ammo I used before was IMI run old ammo from Rguns. They looked shady and did not have any issues.
