I will be sending my slide off to Heine to have the wide slant pros put on but would like to know, from people that have them, if the sights line up over the target or 6 oclock hold. Thanks.

Heinie sights are "dead center" hold not "six o'clock" ("pumpkin on a post") hold. I just e-mailed Mr.Heinie this same question about a week ago.

Yeah, I had a problem with that when I first put Heinies on my Beretta 92 a number of years ago since I am a 6 o'clock guy after years of competitive target shooting.

But I got used to it and just got my 45c back from my gunsmith with a new set of Heine Slant pro straight 8's with the Quik rear for my aging eyes. Look great, will shoot it when it is warm enough to go outside again.

Good luck with yours.

I just e-mailed Mr.Heinie this same question about a week ago.Does this mean that the POI will be on the same plane as the top edge of the front sight? Or does this mean that the front tritium dot will cover the POI?

Also, is this at 25 yards?

Please post pictures of your gun once the Heinie sights are installed! I am considering buying them for my USPc40, and seeing them installed would help with the decision. FWIW, I loved these sights on my old XD40.

POI is/should be under the front dot....

They are set up for 20-25 yds. This is a direct quote from Mr. Heinie.

The Straight-8s on my NHC 1911 are definitely zeroed to 6-o'clock POI at 25 yards.

TimThis is the reason I asked where the POI was in the first place. I had an XD40 a few years ago that came with Straight 8s as a SA factory option. I never verified a "zero" POI, but I swear the thing shot dead on with a 6 o'clock sight picture.

I wish manufacturers made it more clear as to where the gun is supposed to shoot. Obviously ammo plays a role too, but 20-25 yards isn't exactly an accurate description. I guess that's why shooting from a rest is always a good thing to do. At least you know where YOUR gun is shooting.

Anyways, I never liked the "cover the target" or "dead center" sight picture. I like it where the POI is exactly on the same plane as the top edge of the front and rear sight (i always assumed this is 6 o'clock, correct me if it isn't!!). This gives you a better view of your target (or threat) overall, and allows you to make a precision shot, while covering the POI with your front sight is only blocking your view of where you want the bullet to go.
