I am looking to get a LEM. I would like to try one out for myself, but none of the ranges around here rent HKs. They only rent Sigs, Glocks, and less desirable stuff.

However, I have run into a couple of discussions of lighter and heavier trigger pulls, heavy first and lighter follow up? I am confused by the talk, and don't know if these people have no clue, or if there are differences in the LEM from when it was first introduced. I need your help.

My expectation of the LEM is that every trigger pull is identical, and somewhere between 4-5 pounds. I currently have a usp9f and usp45c, both in variant 1, so I am familiar with the DA/SA. I am looking to replace my 45c with a .40c LEM.

This question would be moot if I could afford another P7M8 and a P7M10.

Correct. The LEM V2 (P2000) trigger pull is about 4-5 pounds consistently. However HK does make other LEM variants in different pull weights.

Personally I find the P2000sk .40 in LEM V2 to be the ultimate combination in a carry gun. :)

That is incorrect. The LEM V2 is the 8 pound pull which is the standard trigger pull as shipped by HK unless it is special ordered; the LEM V1 is the 5 pound pull and is either a conversion or a special order from HK.

The trigger pulls stay the same in the particular pistol but you can get different weights of pull depending on variant purchased.
LEM V1 is 5 pounds +-
LEM V2 is 8 pounds +-
LEM V4 is 7 pounds +-
LEM V5 is 10 pounds (standard DAO weight).
V3 is a non LEM and is SA/DA decock only.

Is the V1 safe for conceal carry? How about the V4?

My bad. I guess mine is the LEM V2 at 8lbs. Sorry for the confusion.

I am interested in the LEM as well so thanks for the thread. I would like to ask where you can get the LEM and is it a DIY or too difficult and must be sent off?

I dont want to start a new thread that is identical so excuse me for adding to this one.

I emailed Bill Springfield to ask more about what he offers. Basically the 2 things I want to change in my USP trigger is how heavy the DA is and how light the reset feels. The reset really bothers me since even the slightest finger pressure means it wont reset and almost feels it needs help to do so. I sort of got used to it fairly quick but if that can be made better then why not?

So do you guys think the LEM would be a good idea and could Bill make it even better? How so?

What about the USP reset is that better with the LEM as far as feeling a stronger return of the trigger to the reset position?

If the LEM needs no modification I would rather buy it and do it myself but dont know where to get it. My other thoughts are that I dont want to loose support from HK so if having Bill work on it voids warranty I am not sure I want to do that.
