Hi guys,

Currently, I only own 1 hand gun and its a HK P7. (squeeze cocker)

I have decided i want my next pistol to be an HK as well. Its my brand of choice apparently!

My question to you guys is which manual of arms set up do you prefer?

A little more info about me:
1) I only have real experiance with the P7 so i have no previous skill development with the other types. (I do have a little experiance with my fathers sig 220 which is techncially a V3 comparison)
2) This gun could potentially be used for HD and CCW purposes
3) I do not plan on carrying cocked and locked but am not necessarilly agaisnt an additional safty device.
4) I am right handed.

If you could only own 1 pistol what Set up would you choose and why?

I am and always have been a DAO kinda guy, so I voted LEM...

LEM V1 for me, but that was not in the poll. I don't care for the LEM V2 which is standard but love the LEM V1. In order of preference,
LEM V1 with safety retained.
LEM V1 with no safety.
Match trigger, standard V1.
Standard trigger, standard V1.

i think the lem is cool but if i had to choose between the lem and traditional DA/SA my vote is for the DA/SA. it gives me the best of both worlds and the option to start off in DA or to cock the Hammer and start in SA.

I would go with the lem simply because that's what I train on and carry everyday. When I first brought the lem out to the range I thought that I would never get used to it. Its different, but perfect for carry when you get comfortable with it. DA/SA never felt comfortable to me. Something about consistency in trigger pull sold me on lem. Now if they would start making p30s and HK45s in LEM I would be a happy guy.

If you could only own 1 pistol what Set up would you choose and why?Going by your info, you're used to a single action 9mm and not opposed to a cocked and locked type of safety. It's possibly for concealed carry and you're right handed. That screams USP9 compact, v1. That is also one of my favorites. Excellent choice!

Try to shoot them both and see what you like. I have had both, didn't like the LEM, shoot DA/SA well, so variant 1 on my pistols. Plus, I like the external safety.

+1 with v1. Sypder's got it right, it's the best of both worlds especially with a Match trigger and light hammer spring setup.

LEM, then a trigger job from Bill Springfield that made my P2K snap like a glass rod. It is the nicest trigger I have ever used.

I have a couple of P7s, three USPs in V1 and one USP LEM. I suppose If I used the LEM as much as I have the V1 it would feel more intuitive, but I haven't and it doesn't... yet. Of all my HKs including my 45 Tac with the match trigger I prefer the P7s trigger.
