I was all set on getting the p2000 .40 when I decided to take one more look at the uspc .45. I origanally decided against the uspc 45 because it only holds 8 rounds but then I thought I could just buy and extra mag for the uspc and put it on my duty belt. As far as the guns feel in my hand, I think I like the p2000 best, but I really did like the uspc 45 as well. For those of you who own both or have shot both, which one do you like the best and why. I don't have the oppertunity to spend this kind on money on myself very often and just want to be sure to make the right choice. Which ever I choose will be my new duty weapon. Thanks.

Both are great guns so either way you can't go wrong. I prefer the 45 as a caliber but I like the feel of the P2000 better myself. Have you looked at the HK45C? It gives you the grip of the P2000 with a 45 caliber gun. Hope this helps and good luck.

I prefer the USP, variant 1. I like the cocked and locked option it offers. It also has a shorter single action trigger reset, by about half to a third. For me, it has a better feel. Of course, that's purely subjective. Another thing I like about the USP, also purely subjective, is, for me, when firing one handed, either single or double action, the sights stay aligned throughout the entire trigger stroke without having to apply any extra effort or concentration. As comfortable as my P2000 is in my hands, it doesn't exhibit this. With it or any other handgun I've ever shot, I have to make a conscious effort to keep the sights aligned, no matter how much or how often I practice with them. It's just the way it fits my particular hands.

If you are wanting a carry gun in 45 cal and love the way the P2000 feels in your hand then get the HK45c, if you are wanting something in between then I would suggest P2000 40 cal, I own one with the LEM variation and love it..Hope this helps..

For civilian self-defense, I would definitely say the 45 is a better choice given the fact that in that application, an extended gun-battle is highly unlikely. However, for duty carry, I feel that the 4 extra rounds in the mag are a wise choice. :)
