Fellas,

I have a G19 that I am getting ready to send to Glockmeister for what they call an annual inspection. I want them to replace anything that is worn or close to worn, so that this baby is good to go through the political storm that is upon us. It's 14 years old and could use an inspection anyway.

My question is, since I am no gunsmith, do you guys know of anyone that provides a similar service for HKs? I have a Mark 23 that is only about 6 years old, and as bulletproof as that thing is (no pun), I want to make sure everything is tip top before our friend in the white house decides to ban all foreign gun parts from entering the US, which I suppose is a possibility.

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome. I am hoping to get an idea of what parts tend to wear over time on an HK (particularly MK23) too, so I can maybe buy some of them in anticipation of not having access to them in the future. Any thoughts here would be good too.

Lastly, if you think I'm nuts for thinking this way, let me know that too.

i dont think too much more than replacing the recoil spring as needed, & a good cleaning, maybe somone else can put more in

If you really want to be ahead of the curve, you could buy an extra set of mag-springs and maybe even an extra recoil spring as jayjaytuner said.

The most urgent replacement item on your Mark 23 is going to be your ammo. It is likely that you will go through at least $6,000 to $10,000 worth of it before seeing any failures of any kind with the gun. If you had invested in ammo 2 or 3 years ago, you would have paid at least 35% less for it. I am sure it's price will only continue to inflate in the years ahead. :)
