You're the first one I've heard of using an Elite but I'm sure someone else will chime in.

I'm debating between the Expert 45 for $1275 or a USP 45 for $929...

What made you decide on the Expert over the USP 45?

Can you add night sights to the Expert?

Misecpro put some nice night sights on my Expert. It has a much nicer trigger out of the box than the standard. You can add the match trigger to anything if you want to spend the $. It is also a bit longer so longer site radius and slightly heavier so less muzzle rise.

Buy em both and shoot them a lot.

well, its suppose to be the more accurate of the two ... something that may or may not come in handy if its needed to save my life or that of another

cost wasnt a factor ($1069-new) i know i got a really good deal on it but even if i didnt i would of paid msrp

My vote is for the Expert.

Yeah you can add the match trigger to the standard USP, but you cannot get the awesome balance of the Expert slide --- it feels like an extension of your hand.

I think the USP Expert would be a great duty gun. It will be carried openly so its large size (Even though it is about the same as a 92FS) isn't an issue, and you'll have an extremely accurate and easy to shoot gun.

Are there any paddle holsters that work with the Expert? I looked on Fobus' website however I could only find a holster for the USP 45 (unless that works with the Expert).

I posted those before, but maybe they will help you to see what you are in for: ;-)

I finally bought the Expert 45 for $1175 + tax (my dealer wouldn't budge on the price). I haven't had the chance to shoot it, although it looks and feels real nice.

I saw a "Police Package" USP 45 w/ night sights + 3 (12) round magazines for $899 on Gun Broker. Adding a match trigger probably would have been $200 more, $1099 total.

For the Expert I'll have to spend $120 on night sights and another $80 for a third 12 round magazine. $1375 total.

I hope the "O ring" and the extra 1" in barrel length on the Expert are worth the $276.

I also carry the expert on duty. I put meprolight night sights on it, but put the standard USP meprolight front blade and ran the adj rear all the way to the bottom. It works out great because of the recessed rear part of the expert slide. I carry it in a Safariland 6280-96 holster on the gun belt, and a Kirkpatrick leather Texas Strong Side rig in plain clothes. I dont think it really much larger that carrying a 1911.
