I recently purchased my first gun last Saturday, it's awesome and i couldn't of made a better choice in my opinion. My thing is, i don't have a lot of handgun experience, i live in utah (UGH!!) and want to know, What kind of tactical courses can I look into, for all around training, such as clearing a building, or firing from different positions and varying scenarios, training for better aiming, faster reaction time, shot counting, and so on?

the next question on my agenda is where can i get a holster that will allow me to leave the flashlight attachment on my P30L?

And lastly, I am open to any advice or suggestions or stories anyone would like to offer... I am very excited and eager to learn. thanks.

actually, I think there are a lot of options down in the southwest for training etc...

and when you find a decent tactical holster that fits a P30L+light.. LET ME KNOW!!!!!

best thing you can do is shoot it as often as possible... perfect practice makes perfect.

Don't think they make one for the L yet but I know they make a holster that is ligt compatible for the P30. You might contact them and see if they can do anything for you with the P30L. As far as classes just search google for classes in your area.

Congratulations on your new P30L! The size is somewhat close to the HK45, you might look for a holster suited for that pistol and see if it will work for you otherwise you might just have to wait for a bit until the holster manufacturers have something to offer.

I am glad you like it so much. For my p30L I had Mr.Heinie install a set of his straight 8 night sights, which are top notch quality and look great on the gun. I think it's a good move to get some night sights on the gun even though you use a light. I haven't seen a higher quality sight yet. The detail in machining is head and shoulders above the rest imho. The question is is if the configuration is right for you.

For a holster I would suggest a Raven Concealment holster. The HK45 holster should fit the p30L well and they offer a variation with a light attached. The holsters are top notch and I hear many people talk them up. This is the holster I will purchase when I order one.

I have the Raven Concealment holsters. You can't go wrong with them. Good luck with your pick up!

Congrats - great choice!! Practice, practice, practice.

I would consider sending your gun to Bill Springfield for some trigger work. As nice as your gun is, believe it or not, the trigger is not known for being one of HK's best. (If you get a chance, try the trigger on a HK45.) It's not very expensive, but Mr Springfield can work wonders on your DA and SA pull, which will transfer into more consistent and accurate shooting on your part.

Again, awesome choice for your first HK! (They'll be more)

+1 That's exactly where I went for my P30L. Once you're done ordering from them have Bill Springfield at Triggerwork.net smooth out your trigger and you'll have a perfect P30L.
