Just some random thoughts here. Please accept them without the intent of malice. Yes, there are many honest folks who just don't post a lot to this board. OTOH, the overwhelming percentage of "problem" transactions do occur with brand new members... what we call "drive-by" posters. They're looking to make a quick buck and may have less than honorable intentions. Our goal with the post minimum is to throw a road block in the way. We struggled with the minimum count. Many of the mods wanted the threshold to be much higher. In the end, we settled on 30 posts and 21 days.

Even with the post count minimum, there are still ways for those who have not met the minimum to post their items for sale:
  1. Become a Premium Member. There's a wealth of information on this site and the value of the content grows with each day. Hosting the content and discussion takes resources. Buying a Premium subscription helps defray those costs and eliminates the post count minimum. It also grants access to some forums that are not available to the general public. IMO, it's a bargain! You may also get to learn the famed Dresner Maneuver...
  2. Buy a WTS advertisement. Sure, you will not get the post in the HK items for sale section, but you will get it listed on this board at a rather reasonable cost.
This isn't meant to keep good people from selling stuff. It's meant to slow down the n'er do wells. Unfortunately, it makes life more difficult for all of us. Like some have already noted, the rules can be posted a bajillion times and we'll still have to answer questions over and over.

My thanks to everyone who keeps on helping to make this one of the best sites on the net. The Koolaide tastes great!
