Default First time out with HK45C

This is my first HK and my first .45 as well. I am very pleased with the 45C after its initial range session today at the private range I go to. Shoots very smooth and it's extremely accurate. I shot various ammo out of it and it was by far more accurate using 185gr Speer Gold Dots over various 230gr ammo...maybe due to the shorter barrel of the Compact it prefers the lighter bullet, not sure. The DA pull is worse than most other semi-autos I've shot, but if carrying cocked & locked then you don't have to deal with the poor DA trigger pull this gun has. Everything for me about this gun is just about perfect...except for that DA trigger pull, this gun 'deserves' a better trigger. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a very reliable, accurate, and concealable .45, they can be found for ~$950 and slightly less...some distributors are trying to charge almost $1,200 for them

I think I have a date to shoot my HK-45c next week. I have some mid to mild range 200 grn reloads to shoot. For mostly woods carry I'll take the D/A pull for the 1st shot. I don't have any reason to carry it at a higher readiness level. I like my HK-45 but since I'm fond of lightweight compact guns I really like the feel of the 45c.

Hey I shot the HK-45c over the last few days. The load was 200 grn RN plated bullets over 6.1 Universal. All loads cycled fine. The amazing thing was how well the gun was shooting, the sights were right in there. The gun was also light enough to carry some while I was grouse hunting. Anyway, I think I may have a new favorite. I shot a S&W 65-3 for the 1st time also. I bought it used a while ago.
