I have a cousin in Beckley. He's not into guns, though.
Common sense isn't so common anymore...

    Default UMP Conversion, Great Success!

Well i finally got my ump conversion done, the SBR paperwork shouldn't be far away and I also located the much coveted ump9 bolt, barrel, and mags.

Now I have a question. The magazines seat easily and properly when the bolt is open but if the bolt is closed its pretty damn hard to get it in (on an unloaded mag that is). I've noticed after letting the bolt ride forward that the magazine feed ips aka the part that angles in to keep the cartridge from flying off into space, has small knicks on both sides. This has exposed the metal slightly on the ump 45 magazines. My question is, is this normal behavior for the ump should the mag seat easier with the bolt open vs closed and if not I'm sure i can get the gunsmith that did the conversion to look at it for me, just thought i'd check with the community first.

    Thanks!

    David
