Well, in the past I have owned a USPf 9mm V1, and a USPc 40 V1. I am used to having DA/SA setups but have toyed with the Sig DAK, and the Sig p250 DAO platform in the past.
I got rid of the DAK but in defense, I shot it okay. I'm a big Sig fan and in the past have always owned DA/SA Sigs. I shoot Glocks and M&P's well, but don't care for striker systems. Now, the USPf 9mm, was a dream to shoot. No recoil, and the DA/SA was okay in my book. It was no Sig DA/SA, but I was very pleased. I like the feel of my new to me P2000 LEM, but I got offered an identical P2000 but in V3 DA/SA setup. I'm not quite sure whether or not I should trade to be honest. I haven't been to the range yet, but I'm sure I will shoot either setup just fine. With practice, most people can handle whatever platform they use. I plan on getting a P2000sk to match it for carry and want to have both setup the same way...I think. I could always keep my LEM setup and just get a P2000sk in the same caliber, just in a V3 setup. How would you all look at the situation? I know a lot of people like the LEM, and a lot like the DA/SA setup. Can anyone try to lead me into what they prefer, and why? I know this is an open ended debate and it can ultimately come down to just "do whatever feels best" but I can't rent a P2000 V3 anywhere near where I live to test it out. From what I understand, the V1 USP's are not the same as the V3 P2k's. They don't allow you to carry cocked and locked on the P2k right? |

Also forgot to ask...
I was really thinking it would be good to get the P2000SK in .40 to caliber match with the P2000 so I could share mags. Anyone here got a .40 S&W P2000SK with the LEM that they can review for me. How snappy do you find the sub-compact to be in that caliber? Is it pleasant to shoot? |

the SK in .40 isn't bad at all as far as recoil. It is my first pistol, but i figured it would be worse considering its size. The slide has some heft to it which i think helps dampen the recoil. Not to mention i just think the .40 caliber is superior to the 9mm, (im sure i'll get flamed for that) but thats just me.
I wish i could help you btw the V2 and V3, but iv never shot a V2. I went with the V3 because i really like the idea of having the hammer. I can always cock the hammer as i draw it out and just fire SA if i need to. For whatever reason i just like having both SA and DA. Oh and no Cocked and locked here...no external safeties, but the V3 has a de-cocker button on the back to the left of the hammer. Great gun though. I'm sure whichever you decide, you will love to shoot. Hope i could help.

Is the V3 hammer not bobbed the same way the LEM hammer is? |

no, it's not bobbed. Only bobbed on the LEM V2.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask. You can pm also if you want.

Thanks sw.
I actually re-looked at some pics of the V3 and I guess I just never noticed the hammer variance when looking them over. Still don't know which route I'm going to stay on. DA/SA vs LEM. One thing is for sure, I will be staying on an HK platform until they change my mind. I've had a lot of Sig's over the years, and they just are not what they used to be. Glocks just don't keep my attention and they have horrid ergos. HK fanboy in the making. Sad thing is that I had a USPf and a USPc that I should have never parted with. |

yeah, i heard someone say you will regret ever selling a gun. If you really want another one, don't sell/trade another for it, just save up and buy the other one as well. I'd have to agree with that.
Never shot a glock before, but i'm looking into getting a G20 as my next purchase. theres just something about the glock that makes me think i should just have at least one for my collection...

yeah i like the 19 because of the OD frame color, but something about having a 10mm just clouds my judgement.....
