Default What is the best way to clean the HK 94 Receiver?

Can anyone advise the best technique to clean the inside of the receiver? What solution do you use, how long do you let the solution sit before you agitate it, brush? Thanks!

The best tool for cleaning all roller-locked HK's (and AR15's, M16's) is the E&L Manuf. "Chamber Face Brush" (http://elmfg.com/store/brushes.html#Anchor-46919) and rod, a variable (SLOW) speed drill and a good strong firearms solvent ike Hoppes # 9 or such. Use all there thru the back of the receiver and mag well to clean the carbine from the barrel extension and chamber face ON SLOW RPM's ONLY and NEVER DRY (w/o solvent). Works great! Save lots of time and elbow grease.

Be careful with the brake cleaner and gun scrubber, because they will remove the paint on your receiver......I learned the hard way!!! I use them on the bolt, bolt carrier and trigger pack. Be sure you lube them really well afterwards because they remove all the oil.

Tetra Gun Blast!
This will decrease your total cleaning time by at least 10 minutes.
Also use in on the lower internals. Spay it, air it out and spot lube metal to metal points, reinsert into housing.

One of the gun industries best kept secrets and I let the cat out of the bag!

it helps if you coat the entire inside receiver with oil, I use CLP, then it's just a matter of taking a rag and wiping that off, the residue comes off with it. clean.

as for the trunion, I just coat that area with CLP, let it sit for a bit, then just take my finger wrapped in a cloth and wipe it off, comes out clean. where the barrel sits into the trunion, some gunk is found around there. I just take a .223 patch and using a wood shish kabob skewers clean that area out.

easy peasy lemon squeezy
