My Vector 93 shoots about 1 foot to the right after I have maxed out the adjustment on the rear sight. I am guessing that either the front sight post is not installed correctly or that the base is welded off center. It looks like the post is just held in place with a roll pin. Is it possible to install it off center? Is there a better answer than trying to bend the sight with a pair of vice grips? Thanks

you need to first determine if the FSB is canted, or the rear sight was welded on off center. and work from there if you determine that your FSB is canted, and you actually see a pin in yours, that pin goes through a notch on the barrel that was drill for it. so it's not a matter of taking a set of vise grips and gorilla to straight it out the FSB. you would need to knock the the pin out, then set the FSB straight and then redrill for a new position for the pin. I've done that to one of my AKs, that had a canted FSB. although it's not that hard to do, you have to be very very careful about redrilling, as if you screw it up, you can go through into the barrel and ruin your rifle Last edited by UncleBilly; 11-05-2009 at 05:33 AM. |

Yes. The front sight POST is held in by a roll pin. Its not adjustable and bending the post will usually result in it snapping off. Check if the front sight BASE is centered.

Keep in mind that the Triple Frame may also be Silver Soldered. Original HK33's were High Temp Soldered to hold in place for pinning.

I have issues with my V93 as well as a g3 clone I recently had built. I can say that the g3/91 clone runs like a top, for that I am thankful.
I was young and poor back in the 80's and was unable to get the real thing when they were 500.00 bucks or so. I have always liked the HK roller locked guns, don't really know why. I buy a pile of parts and screw an AR or an FAL together and they work every time and shoot point of aim/ point of impact. Got a couple of each. Why is it so hard for someone, with a little experience of course, to produce a weapon that has a history of quality and reliability to be true to its heritage. At the very least, I would like the weapon to run reliably. It would also be nice to have the sights aligned so you can zero without extreme ajustments (like the post with the Vector 93 where they moved the front tripple frame and then tried to bend the cocking tube so it would align with it). All the factory HKs that I have seen, and my Greek SAR 8 as well, had the cocking tube perfectly centered in the triple frame and the barrel completely free floated (i.e. nothing touching or putting pressure on the barrel or tripple frame). Sights were centered, no running the rear all the way one way or the other. And they ate everything they were fed. For the price we are paying for some of these clones, they should be much higher quality. |

So no simple answer? How disappointing.
