WTS: Factory HK PSG1

For sale: Used, rare, late model, factory German, HK PSG1 sniper rifle.

The rifle is a KG date code which makes it a very rare late model rifle from 1996. This gun has the late model, half moon titanium rollers. The factory tripod is the updated, late model, version with silver lettering instead of red. The scope illumination functions as it should and the gun will include a functioning, factory original scope battery. I purchased the rifle used so the round count is unknown but appears to be very low based on the limited amount of wear. I have personally fired 80 rounds through the rifle. The gun is in stellar shape and I would rate it at about 90% to 95%. There are a few handling/storage marks on the gun (See pics). The scope cover is also detached from the scope at the tab. This is common on most PSG1s as some owners did not like the scope cover hanging to the side of the scope when in use. Replacement scope cover assemblies are still available from Hensoldt but not necessary as the scope cover functions just fine. The rifle’s case is in great condition with minimal marks to the aluminum. Most PSG1 cases out there look really bad as they are made from anodized aluminum and not very durable. The only notable issue with the case is that the vinyl on the handle is torn in two places. A vinyl repair shop should be able to repair it cheaply but I will leave that up to the new owner.

There have been a few people ask me if this PSG1 is legal to own because of the late date code. There is a common misconception that the PSG1 was banned from civilian importation and purchase in 1989 or 1993. This is not true. The PSG1 was legal to import up until April 6th, 1998. So any PSG1 manufactured before that date is considered a pre-ban and was available to civilians through any HK dealer See here (Page 167).

I can accept up to $5000 of the total cost of the gun via two PP transactions but the buyer will be responsible for the PP fees. I would need to ship the scope and or tri pod directly to you if the PP payment option is chosen. The buyer will be responsible for the extra shipping charges.

I will also throw in 40 rounds of Remington match grade ammunition for free.


The gun must go FFL to FFL. I accept money orders, bank/certified checks and personal checks as payment. Personal checks must clear my bank before the gun ships. I will not sell/ship to anywhere this gun is illegal (you know who you are), so please do not ask. Thanks for looking.

Based on the tripod that just sold on Gunbroker I am willing to accept another $1500 via paypal for the PSG1 sale. This would require me to ship the tripod separately as well.

The new payment option would be

$8500 (cash, check or certified funds) + $2500 (PayPal scope) + $1500 (Paypal tripod)

Basically, I am giving the purchaser the ability to pay for $4000 of the total cost of the PSG1 package via a credit card with no fees. I will also throw in 40 rounds of Remington match grade ammunition for free to sweeten the deal. You will be hard pressed to find another deal like this even if you tried.

Guys, come to think of it we can actually say the scope is worth $3500 as it would cost you close to $3000 to have a new one imported. So that can add another $1000 to the PayPal payment option. That is a crazy good deal. Basically, I am allowing the new buyer to legitimately and safely pay for $5000 of the total cost of the gun via a fee free credit card transaction. Try to find that deal elsewhere.

Guys, I will take $12,200 shipped for the gun via M/O or bank/personal check. You are basically getting a very nice, late model PSG1 with all accessories for $12K. I am losing several hundred dollars at this price. You will be hard pressed to find a nice Factory PSG1, with all the factory correct accessories, at this price in any market. The PP payment options are still valid but not at this new cash price.

The scope and or tri pod will still need to be shipped directly to the buyer if the PP option is chosen. The extra shipping charges will be the responsibility of the buyer.
