Slide mounted holographic sight?

I was reading a thread the other day and someone posted a pic of a slide mounted holo sight. What are you guys thoughts about doing this? I like the idea but not sure if the sight can withstand the recoil and stay sighted in properly. Here is the page that the pic is on. It's about half the way down the page.

I know the slide will have to be modified... So what do you guys think?

I got to try it on some of the guys Glock 22's here and I gotta say I LIKE IT! You have to do a couple presentations to get use to it, (maybe it was just me going to a Glock from a Sig) but once you get it down, it presents fast.

I'm trying to see if Todd at CustomizedCreationz can mill a Sig slide for me. At the very least, I'd like a rear sight in case the MRDS went belly up.

The only downside I noticed was that I prefer the Safariland ALS holsters and use one for my Sig. Safariland is making one for the Glock with an MRDS, but are not interested in making one for the Sig for now. The release bar gets in the way of an MRDS otherwise.

Hi, I'm new to this forum but not to guns.

There is a forum called Warrior Talk that has a section under Handguns for the red dot pistols. Many people like the Trijicon RMR's or the Leupold Deltapoint. Recommended dot size is 7-8 MOA.
Usually they are milled into the slide and suppressor sights are added which can be used it the sight dies.

Look up Bowie Tactical. He's an innovator, or at least that is what I've been told. I would send one to him based on the reviews that I have heard and read.

Other than that, the Leupold Deltapoint comes with a baseplate for the HK p2000 and USP. Or a rail mount system like the Sig Rail, but polymer frame flex will quickly make it lose its zero. Those kinds of setups are really for metal framed pistols. If I were to do the rail to top picitanny mount like the Sig Rail, I would go with the Les Baer Monolith 45ACP 5" w/Baer Optical Scope Mount. That's actually drilled into the frame and is probably the best semi-auto scope setup I've seen.

I had a JPoint mounted on my Glock 30 from 2003-2011. It is now on top of my AR. They can take a beating. JPoint and the Trijicon are the best ones rolling. I've tried most of them..

I met with a local guy (Doug @ ATEi) to have my Heinies installed and I asked him about putting an RMR on my P30. In short he said with out extraordinary measures on the P30 like an adapter plate, the RMR wont mount because of the placement and width of the set screws. The Delta could work because the screws are closer together BUT he doesn't suggest it for daily carry. He pointed out hte differences to me and the RMR is all around far superior. Thinker glass and a better housing that would withstand hard abuse.

I had a Burris Fastfire II on my HK P7 for a while. It's fine for the range, but in low light or as a defensive tool, it is not as good as night sights, and nowhere near as good as a laser, IMO.

My railed P7 has an Armalaser SR2-635 waiting for it when it comes back from Custom Creationz.

Here's a pic of the FFII on my P7:
