Thanks for your service too!!!
You see what most of the liberals in Europe are negating,
there is a real terrorism import into Iraq!!!
Bull**** Jihadys!
Infidel forever!!!

@ USMCMP5A3
The night vision scope looks like the old BIV Orion II
that we had in the German Bundeswehr untill mid 90s
for our old G3s and MG3s!!!

They are obsolete since we have our G36
with the much newer NSA 80!!!

GermanFritze thanks for the link on the NVS. i was wondering what kind it was as it is clear and operational. i zeroed it last week at 100yds. i wish i wouldnt have misplaced the arabic marked steel mag.

still waiting on ATF to give me the go ahead to move the serial numbers so i can make it more authentic with the iranian marking.

THAT IS AWESOME...

but I gotta ask, how did ya get it back to the states?

it looks like a push pin lower.Which means full auto, and you know whatthey think of full auto imported into the US.Most likely this gun would have to be imported by a class II manufacturer or cut up into a parts kit.The new way of cutting (properly) into a parts kit is diagonally through the trunion and the magwell. This effectively destroys the barrell ([read]import ban).I would like to see you get it back, but seems unlikely.Even if you welded up the ledge to make it only accept semi trigger packs, that damn stupid barrell ban is still in effect.

it's built on a JLD receiver. i have the magwell pieces that i cut off of the original reciever and will replace when BATFE gives me approval. it isnt a push-pin lower, my GS just did a really good job at welding to give it the appearance of being a full pin.

as for bringing it back, i cut the crap out of it to bring back parts that made it unique. i took pictures of barrel marks to find a replacement when i got home. pretty much everything was original HK, 1977 era stuff.

so it wasnt that hard to find replacement pieces. all the other stuff i did a commanders letter. basically it stated it wasnt a firearm and that he had knowledge of me bringing the listed pieces back. when customs came through i had the parts laid out with the letter and they took the letter and said box it up.

i hear now it isnt that easy unless your in afghanistan.

Cool G3...

The markings of the host indicate it was manufactured under the Reign of the late Shah Pahlavi. The year of manufacture is in the Iranian solar calander format and I cant make it out clearly to translate. The magwell markings changed during Ayatollah Khomeini from the Persian Lion to another symbol that is difficult to describe. The current Iranian G3 is manufactured by Defence Industries Organization (DIO), these have a marking of a ring gear with a crossed G3 and MG3 which is DIO's logo.

In case anyone was curious on the selector markings, "Z" (Zamen, Safe); "T" (Taktir, Semi-automatic; "R" (Ragbar, Fully-Automatic).

AHHH! You lucky dog!
We had many from around Baghdad, most were crap. MNCI has changed so many of the rules, I couldn't even get a scope out this last rotation:(. Of course that is from unit to unit also, how hard they look. I should have brought more parts home during OIF 01-02. No one was really looking then...

Ahhhhhh, so you cut the rifle-up and brought back some of the "unique" parts to attempt to rebuild it on a JDL. Looking closer at your orginal post, it looks like you put everything on a PTR-91 (can faintly see the logo).

Well, the ATF isn't going to give you permission to move a s/n. A lot of us have tried... I have tried EXTENSIVELY and each time have been shot down by the ATF... once a s/n has been applied to a receiver, there is shall remain, period.

Your best bet is to get a G3 flat from ORF so you can do whatever you want to the thing before bending and applying a new s/n.

I'd be in the market for someone to apply a JLD flat to an FMP barrel and mark it and the lower just like that Iranian one... Wonder if it's worth a shot? When I first seen this post, I was like "damn! that's hot!".
With good photos and detailed measurements of the characters, I can have stamps made. I already have the "HK" logo, "G3", "G3K" and "Cal.7,62x51" stamps for my personal builds and the quality and accuracy is superb. The stamps are pricey but if there is enough interest in having flats stamped, I can get the stamps made.

wow that is indeed a great find!
